Man Found Dead In St. Thomas Lagoon

ST. THOMAS — A man was found dead on Wednesday morning in the waters of a lagoon located in Nadir, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced on Friday.

According to Mr. Jackson, citing a preliminary police report, officers responding to the scene confirmed the report as they located the body of a black male with braids, entwined in the mangrove. Personnel with the Department of Planning and Natural Resources were contacted and along with officers and detectives, removed the body and transported it to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center, where an autopsy was to be performed.

The deceased possessed no identification and the case has been listed as dead on arrival (D.O.A.), pending the results of the autopsy.
