Governor John P. de Jongh, Jr. on Monday issued an audio recording outlining the expected employment and steps he says the Government took to secure the contractor, St. Croix-based GEC, LLC,\u00a0for the demolition and reconstruction of Frederiksted’s Paul E. Joseph Stadium.<\/p>\n

According to the company’s website<\/a><\/span>, GEC, LLC has extensive experience in the territory, as it is the contractors\u00a0of the Louis E. Brown Apartments and Senior Villas on St. Croix, as well as a number of other projects on St. Thomas and St. John.<\/p>\n

In a\u00a0previous report<\/a><\/span> on the stadium’s\u00a0planned reconstruction, it was reported that\u00a0the\u00a0contract was awarded\u00a0to\u00a0Portage, Wisconsin-based General Engineering Corporation. However, St. Croix’s GEC, LLC has no affiliation with General Engineering Corporation in Wisconsin.<\/p>\n
