A 51-year-old St. Thomas man reported being shot in his upper left shoulder on November 28 by\u00a0Henry Tuitt Polanco, 57, who walked up to him and, unprovoked, opened gunfire, according to police spokesperson Melody Rames.<\/p>\n
Police say the incident took place at about 5:30 p.m. at the Doble Play Bar and Restaurant on St. Thomas.<\/p>\n
According to the initial police report, witnesses say the victim was inside the bar when another male walked in and shot him. The suspect then left the scene in a green Madza. The victim, who was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center\u00a0in a private vehicle and treated, also told police that Polanco\u00a0assaulted him with a golf club several days prior to the shooting incident.<\/p>\n
Police say Polanco\u00a0turned himself in, and was arrested at about 8:45 p.m. the same day of the shooting and was charged with Assault Third Degree. His bail has been set at $45,000 and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
