St. Croix Chief of Police James Parris has issued the following parking and road restrictions for upcoming holiday and inauguration celebrations on St. Croix.<\/p>\n

Parking and Road Restrictions for Mon Bijou J’ouvert <\/strong>
\nJ’ouvert — Friday, Dec. 26 at 6 a.m.<\/p>\n

Beginning at 4 a.m. PARKING IS PROHIBITED from the Alfredo Andrews Elementary School on both sides of the road to the Mon Bijou community center.<\/p>\n

The celebration will begin at the Chicken Shack across from the La Reine Shopping Center. It will continue on the North Shore road, turn left onto the Fredensborg Rd. and continue to the Mon Bijou community center.<\/p>\n

Any vehicles found parked within the restricted area between the hours specified will be cited and towed at the owner’s expense.<\/p>\n

Parking and Road Restrictions for Frederiksted J’ouvert and Parades<\/strong><\/p>\n

J’ouvert \u2013 Thursday, Jan. 1 at 6 a.m.
\nBeginning at 4 a.m. and ending at 12 noon, PARKING IS PROHIBITED on King Street and Fisher Street in Frederiksted. The celebration is scheduled to begin at the Hannah\u2019s Rest intersection and continue\u00a0toward Frederiksted town, turning left onto Fisher Street and right onto King Street to the Carnival Village.<\/p>\n

Children’s Parade \u2013 Saturday, Jan. 3 at 10 a.m.
\nBeginning at 5 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m., PARKING IS PROHIBITED on Fisher Street and King Street in Frederiksted, from the Post Office to the Carnival Village.<\/p>\n

Adult’s Parade \u2013 Sunday, Jan. 4 at 10 a.m.
\nBeginning at 5 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m., PARKING IS PROHIBITED on Fisher Street and King Street in Frederiksted, from the Post Office to the Carnival Village.<\/p>\n

Both parades will begin at the Claude O. Markoe Elementary School.<\/p>\n

Any vehicles found parked within the restricted area between the hours specified will be cited and towed at the owner’s expense.<\/p>\n

Parking and Road Restrictions for Inauguration Parade<\/strong><\/p>\n

Parade — Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 10:15 a.m. (parade participants will assemble at 9:30 a.m.)<\/p>\n

The parade will begin at\u00a0Claude O. Markoe School and proceed onto Queen Mary Highway to Fisher Street. It will continue on King Street and on to the Buddhoe Park bandstand, where the official program will begin at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n

In addition to the parade route, PARKING IS PROHIBITED\u00a0on Fisher Street, King Street, and the area between Custom House and the UCA building.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
