Antilles’ middle and upper school drama teacher, Megan Elliot, is spearheading an effort to bring the concept of children’s live-action theater to students in the Early Learning Center (ELC) with the introduction of Readers’ Theater.<\/p>\n
The first performance of the 10th grade’s Readers’ Theater debuted on campus Tuesday, bringing the school’s toddler through kindergarten classes an interactive version of the Grimm brothers’ classic, The Bremen Town Musicians<\/em>, written\u00a0by Elliot.<\/p>\n According to school officials, Elliot has worked for the past two years to improve the\u00a0school’s theater program, “making it more community-oriented with students having an active role in the production process.”<\/p>\n “What I love about this is that it gives our older students a chance to expose the younger ones to live theater, and it gave me a chance to introduce the children’s theater concept into the script,” Elliot said. “It’s great that we have been given the opportunity here to start this at a young age.”<\/p>\n Readers’ Theater was performed in the ELC’s mini-amphitheater, providing youngsters the opportunity to bray along with the donkey and other characters in the musicians’ band.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Antilles’ middle and upper school drama teacher, Megan Elliot, is spearheading an effort to bring the concept of children’s live-action theater to students in the Early Learning Center (ELC) with the introduction of Readers’ Theater.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":16046,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[191,147],"tags":[940],"yoast_head":"\n
