A man identified as\u00a0\u00a037-year-old Mustafa Williams was shot dead Monday, at about 11:46 a.m., in Estate Grove Place,\u00a0in the vicinity of the Eulalie Rivera Elementary School, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has announced.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Jackson, 911 dispatchers received a call of shots being fired near the elementary school and proceeded to dispatch police officers to the scene.<\/p>\n

When the officers arrived, however, they met an unresponsive black male laying in the vicinity of #15C Grove Place.\u00a0Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene, but found no vital signs on the victim.<\/p>\n

Williams\u00a0was shot multiple times, and according to sources, the weapons used released shots at a rapid rate, akin to an AK 47.<\/p>\n

Police have not identified any suspects;\u00a0however, detectives with the Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the incident.<\/p>\n

This is the second shooting death\u00a0on St. Croix this year.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information concerning the shooting\u00a0is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at (340) 642-8449, the Internal Affairs Bureau at (340) 774-2452, 911 or the anonymous tips service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.<\/p>\n
