{"id":19097,"date":"2015-03-11T02:55:12","date_gmt":"2015-03-11T02:55:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/?p=19097"},"modified":"2015-03-11T03:05:35","modified_gmt":"2015-03-11T03:05:35","slug":"st-croix-man-struck-injured-in-la-reine-hit-and-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wp.viconsortium.com\/?p=19097","title":{"rendered":"St. Croix Man Struck, Injured In La Reine Hit-And-Run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man was struck by a white vehicle that left the scene of the accident that took place in the vicinity of the Kingshill Post Office, near the La Reine Chicken Shack on Tuesday\u00a0night, <em>VI Consortium<\/em> has confirmed through police sources.<\/p>\n<p>Police say the victim, who is approximately 57 years old, was intoxicated and walking in the roadway on the northbound lane of the La Reine road when he was struck by what is believed to be a white Jeep Liberty.<\/p>\n<p>Police say the victim suffered a laceration to the head consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Police also say the man has a history of seizures.<\/p>\n<p>When<em> VI Consortium<\/em> spoke with police well over an hour\u00a0following the incident, they told reporters the man had remained intoxicated, but would be treated for his injuries and was expected to recover.<\/p>\n<p><em>VI Consortium<\/em> received a call about the hit-and-run\u00a0around 7:54 p.m. Tuesday, approximately 20 minutes after the incident occurred.
