As the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) spring semester takes hold, there are new faces taking up leadership positions at the institution.<\/p>\n

According to information received from UVI, \u00a0Dr. Stephen Reames joins the university’s\u00a0staff as dean of the School of Business. He\u00a0is the former founding dean of the College of Business Administration, at A\u2019Sharqiyah University, a private college located in the Sultanate of Oman.<\/p>\n

Dr.\u00a0Reames has also worked as a\u00a0visiting professor of the School of Business and Management at the American University of Armenia in the Republic of Armenia. He\u00a0also served as visiting professor in the College of Information Technology and Digital Economy at American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dr. Reames has been named a\u00a0Fulbright Scholar by the U.S. State Department for his teaching assignment in Russia. He holds a Ph.D. in information science from the University of North Texas.<\/p>\n

Dr. Stephen Moore has joined the UVI staff as director of student success and honor programs within the university\u2019s Center for Student Success<\/a>.\u00a0He brings\u00a0<\/span><\/span>with him\u00a0extensive experience in student support, tutoring, advising and counseling.<\/p>\n

Dr. Moore was the founding director for the peer mentor program at Fairmont State University. He also served as graduate assistant of athletics advising and counseling at Syracuse University, where he has\u00a0worked in the areas of student support and retention.<\/p>\n

Dr. Moore was the business learning coordinator, faculty developer and instructional designer for Fairmont State University. He\u00a0holds a master\u2019s degree and Ph.D. in instructional design, development and evaluation from Syracuse University.<\/p>\n

Trudi Golphin joins UVI as\u00a0director of residence life for the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix, a position responsible for the overseeing of student life.\u00a0Golphin brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served in various capacities in university administration over the past 16 years.<\/p>\n

Monifa Potter, who had already been employed at the university as programmer\/analyst, where she assisted students with enrollment and served as a customer service representative, has been promoted to university registrar. Potter’s new role will see her managing\u00a0student academic records, as well as web registration, transcript processing, course scheduling, and graduation processing.<\/p>\n

Potter is a UVI graduate, having obtained bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees in business administration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
