ST. THOMAS \u2013 The deadline for filing your income tax return or submitting a request for a three-month extension is today.<\/p>\n
The Virgin Islands Bureau of Internal Revenue offices are located at 6115 Smith Bay in St. Thomas and 4008 Estate Diamond in St. Croix.<\/p>\n
The IRB has extended office hours today \u2013 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. \u2013 to accommodate everyone trying to meet the filing deadline.<\/p>\n
IRB employees will be on hand to stamp tax payer returns and answer general questions.<\/p>\n
Residents should file 2014 returns or extension forms by the deadline to avoid penalties, IRB Director designee Marvin Pickering said.<\/p>\n
An incorrect or missing Social Security number can increase the processing time of a refund and could increase the amount of tax due and the time it takes to receive a refund, the IRB said.<\/p>\n
