CROIX \u2013 A man throwing out his garbage at the Mon Bijou dumpsite Wednesday about midnight was approached by two masked men with a gun in a robbery attempt, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>The man told police at 12:15 a.m. April 29 that the men were dressed entirely in black clothing \u2013 one short and one tall \u2013 and emerged from the bushes at the southwestern boundary of the dumpsite as he was placing his trash in the dumpster.<\/p>\n<p>The taller of the two men pointed a firearm at the victim and said: \u201cPass it up.\u201d To which the man said: \u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The taller man fired a shot at the victim, but missed, police said. After which, the man who complained to police fired a single shot from his licensed firearm at the two suspects, but missed.<\/p>\n<p>The masked men ran off the grounds of the dumpsite in a southerly direction towards the Alfredo Andrews Elementary School, the man told police.<\/p>\n<p>The man was unharmed in the incident.
