ST. THOMAS — Shooting incidents over the weekend left two victims injured and needing medical attention, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The first, according to Jackson, occurred at about 4:40 p.m. on Friday, after the 911 emergency call center received notification of shots being fired in the area of Lindberg Bay in close proximity of the University of the Virgin Islands.<\/p>\n
The victim, a resident of Bordeaux, indicated that he was walking in the area when he heard shots rang out and realized that he was hit. He sustained two gunshot wounds to his body and was taken via ambulance to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
Then, on Sunday, at about 3:40 a.m., officers received notification from the 911 emergency call center of a possible gunshot victim in the area of Rain Department Store, located on Centerline Road in Estate Thomas.<\/p>\n
While en route to the scene,\u00a0officers were flagged down by two black males near Centerline Road. One of the males stated that he had been shot in the back while sitting in the area of Paul M. Pearson(PMP) Housing community\u2019s Basketball Court.<\/p>\n
The victim was subsequently\u00a0transported the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital where he was treated for multiple gunshot wounds to his back.<\/p>\n
