ST. CROIX — Lieutenant Governor Osbert Potter, who serves as the territory’s Commissioner of Insurance, left the islands on Monday for Whitefish Lake, Montana, where he’ll attend\u00a0the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Executive Committee Interim Meeting and NAIC Mid-Year Commissioners Round Table Session until July 10, according to a press release issued on Monday.<\/p>\n

The conference will host insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and the 5 U.S. territories.<\/p>\n

Through the NAIC, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer review, and coordinate their regulatory oversight, according to the release.<\/p>\n

In accordance with the Revised Organic Act, Senate President Neville James will serve as Acting Lieutenant Governor until Potter returns to the territory on July 15.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
