CROIX &#8212;\u00a0The Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation is inviting the public to come and &#8220;immerse themselves&#8221; in the sounds of Quelbe, the official music of the U.S. Virgin Islands during &#8220;Quelbe At Sunset&#8221;, happening tomorrow\u00a0at the Verne I. Richards Veteran Memorial Park, located on Strand Street in Frederiksted, from 4:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., according to a press release VIPD issued on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The event, which is expected to be the first in a series of open-air concerts, was organized to &#8220;provide the residents and visitors of St. Croix the opportunity to experience, learn and enjoy the cultural aspects of the Virgin Islands through music,&#8221; the press release states.<\/p>\n<p>Featured artists performing at Quelbe At Sunset on Sunday include Mind, Body &amp; Soul Band, the Renaissance Band and cultural torchbearers, the world-renowned Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, August 14, Quelbe At Sunset takes place once again at the aforementioned location, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., with the Russell Ensemble as the featured performing band.<\/p>\n<p>Food, drinks and toys will be on sale during both events, so mark your calendars and be prepared to \u2018Roas-A-Time\u2019 (enjoy yourself) at Quelbe At Sunset, the release added.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact\u00a0Craig Williams at 340-773-0160, or via email at craig.williams@hpr.vi.gov.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Image Credit: Reemy-Reemz Photography.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST.
