{"id":27741,"date":"2015-08-30T10:47:22","date_gmt":"2015-08-30T10:47:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/?p=27741"},"modified":"2015-08-30T10:47:22","modified_gmt":"2015-08-30T10:47:22","slug":"dlca-informs-public-of-oscar-mayer-turkey-recall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wp.viconsortium.com\/?p=27741","title":{"rendered":"DLCA Informs Public Of Oscar Mayer Turkey Recall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs announced in a recent press release the recall of\u00a0over 2 million pounds of Oscar Mayer turkey bacon, produced between May 31, 2015,\u00a0and August 6, 2015, due to &#8220;spoilage-related consumer complaints,&#8221; by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).<\/p>\n<p>In other words, DLCA says, &#8220;the\u00a0turkey bacon may have spoiled before its &#8220;Best When Used By&#8221; date and may make\u00a0consumers susceptible to foodborne illness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>USDA determined this case as a Class\u00a0II recall, defined as &#8220;a health hazard situation where there is a remote probability of\u00a0adverse health consequences from the use of the product.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The USDA urges consumers to avoid consuming the following products:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oscar Mayer &#8220;Selects Uncured Turkey Bacon&#8221; (UPC 0 4470007633 0) with<br \/>\n&#8220;Best When Used By&#8221; dates of Aug. 24, 2015, through Oct. 26, 2015.<\/li>\n<li>Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon &#8220;Smoked Cured Turkey Chopped and Formed&#8221;<br \/>\n(UPC 0 7187154874 8) with &#8220;Best When Used By&#8221; dates of Aug. 28, 2015,<br \/>\nthrough Oct. 20, 2015.<\/li>\n<li>Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon &#8220;Smoked Cured Turkey Chopped and Formed&#8221;<br \/>\n(UPC 0 7187154879 3) with &#8220;Best When Used By1&#8221; dates of Sept. 3, 2015,<br \/>\nthrough Oct. 30, 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The products subject to recall bear the establishment number \u201cP-9070\u201d inside the USDA\u00a0mark of inspection, as well as the line number \u201cRS19\u201d. These items were shipped \u00a0nationwide and exported to the Bahamas and St. Martin.\u00a0If any consumer in the Virgin Islands has purchased any of the identified items, do not\u00a0consume them.<\/p>\n<p>Although Oscar Mayer has yet to make announcements regarding refunds, customers\u00a0with any concerns or questions about the recall can reach Kraft Heinz Consumer\u00a0Relations Center at (800) 278-3403.
