ST. THOMAS — A woman was struck by a stray bullet following her return from the movie theater here, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced on Friday.<\/p>\n
According to Jackson,\u00a0at roughly 12:00 a.m., officers received notification from the 911 emergency call center of a gunshot victim seeking treatment at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital.<\/p>\n
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau arrived at the medical facility and met with the victim, a 21-year-old female, who told police that sometime after 11:00 p.m. she, along with her brother and a friend left the movie theater and were on their way to drop off the pair in the Estate Tutu area.<\/p>\n
The victim stated that while in the vicinity of the Alvin McBean Ball Park, she heard numerous shots being fired and realized that she had been hit soon after exiting the vehicle. The victim and her companions then drove to the RLSH where she was treated for grazes to her back, sustained from the bullets that had been fired.<\/p>\n
