TORTOLA — Armed gunmen targeted Bob\u2019s Gas Station in Baughers Bay here Thursday evening.<\/p>\n
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force confirmed the robbery.<\/p>\n
The proprietor of the gas station \u2018Robert Bob\u2019 Pickering reported that he was taking the evening proceeds into his vehicle after 9:00 p.m. last night when he was approached by a lone gunman.\u00a0He turned over the proceeds to the gunman who then fled on foot to the front of the building.<\/p>\n
A second assailant than emerged, took the bag after it fell from the first assailant and they both ran towards the Port Purcell Roundabout.<\/p>\n
Police say both assailants were described as slim; one was about 5\u201910 inches tall and the other was a bit shorter.\u00a0They were both wearing dark long pants and short sleeved shirts. Neither said anything during the incident and no one was injured.<\/p>\n
This is not the first time Bob\u2019s Gas Station has been targeted by armed bandits.\u00a0In 2011 Pickering was shot several times by a lone gunman while he was leaving his business with the night deposit bag on his way to the bank.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
