TORTOLA —\u00a0<\/b>Improvements are underway at the Road Town Jetty, BVI.<\/p>\n
The recent project involves the relocation of Cashier Desk to improve the flow of ferry passengers.<\/p>\n
Deputy Managing Director at the BVI Ports Authority Al Henley explained, \u201cThe relocation of the cashier desks is being done to mitigate any bottle necks that would have occurred in the present location. Again, it\u2019s about enhancing the guest experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also said, \u201cAfter purchasing ferry tickets, passengers joined the line to pay departure tax and the security fee, but that sometimes interrupted the line meant for passengers clearing security. The relocation should improve the overall flow of both lines.\u201d<\/p>\n
In order to facilitate the new location of the Cashier\u2019s Desk, the existing snackette had to be relocated nearer to the taxi stand. The existing Cashier\u2019s Desk will also be removed with the intent of adding a second security scanner to further expedite the security check-in process.<\/p>\n
The works which began last week are being done by the Authority\u2019s Project Unit and Maintenance Department.<\/p>\n
Other improvements at the Road Town Jetty include the new bathroom facilities installed for the benefit of domestic travelers, the installation of the Automated Teller Machines (ATM\u2019s) and the installation of a television in the international departure lounge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
