ST. CROIX — As is its custom, the Department of Planning and Natural Resources has released its weekly water quality report through the beach water quality monitoring program, and has determined that most of the territory’s beaches are safe for swimming and fishing this weekend.<\/p>\n
Residents, however, should avoid Frenchman’s Bay and Water Bay, as the two St. Thomas beaches have been deemed unsafe.<\/p>\n
The beaches confirmed safe are as follows:<\/p>\n
St. Croix <\/strong><\/p>\n Stoney Ground, Protestant Cay, Chenay Bay, Buccaneer, Cane Bay, Cramer Park, Rainbow, Shoy\u2019s, New Fort (Ft. Louise Augusta), Pelican Cove (Comorant) Halfpenny, Princess (Condo Row), Columbus Landing, Dorsch Frederiksted Public Beach, Sprat Hall and Grapetree Bay.<\/p>\n St. Thomas<\/strong><\/p>\n Hull Bay, Lindquist, Sapphire, Coki Point, Vessup Bay, Magen\u2019s Bay, Secret Harbor, Bluebeards, Brewer\u2019s Bay and Lindbergh Bay.<\/p>\n St. John<\/strong><\/p>\n Cruz Bay, Oppenhiemer, Great Cruz Bay and Frank Bay.<\/p>\n DPNR says\u00a0Bolongo Bay on St. Thomas and Johnson Bay on St. John could not be sampled this week due to the heavy presence of seaweed along the shoreline.<\/p>\n The department added that it would\u00a0continue to monitor the impacted areas and waters.
