CROIX &#8212; Senator Terrence &#8220;Positive&#8221; Nelson envisions a meeting that encompasses community leaders from all segments to join ideas for a peace rally\/concert as one of the responses to the violence-marred weekend that rocked this island two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>The gunfights started with the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/featured\/st-croix-man-shot-dead-in-parking-lot-of-daycare-while-wife-pick-up-child\/\" target=\"_blank\">homicide death<\/a><\/span> of Jermaine \u201cBird\u201d Williams on the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 4, which was followed by \u201chundreds of shots\u201d being <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">f<a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/featured\/hundreds-of-shots-fired-during-gang-style-drive-by-shooting-in-red-brick\/\" target=\"_blank\">ired back-and-forth<\/a><\/span> in the Red Brick\/Water Gut area later the same day, according to Sen. Novelle Francis, a former police chief and police commissioner. Multiple victims were injured during the gunfight, as ambulances rushed in and out of the close neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<p>That same day at about 10:00 p.m., an attempted <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/virgin-islands-2\/gunpoint-attempted-robbery-at-napoleon-pizza-gunfire-erupts-in-mon-bijou-campo-rico\/\" target=\"_blank\">robbery at Napoleon\u2019s Pizza<\/a><\/span> in Peter\u2019s Rest, across from Cost-U-Less ended with shots being fired by both sides \u2014 the store\u2019s owner and the suspects \u2014 and almost immediately following the incident, police responded to shots being fired in Campo Rico and Mon Bijou.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, Dwayne \u201cDMX\u201d Woodrup <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/featured\/red-honda-civic-riddled-with-bullets-near-central-high-school-victim-in-surgery\/\" target=\"_blank\">was shot multiple times<\/a><\/span> on Centerline Road near the Central High School, leaving the red Honda Civic he was driving riddled with bullet holes and Woodrup, who was <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/featured\/honda-civic-shooting-victim-airlifted-out-of-territory-juan-luis-under-heavy-security\/\" target=\"_blank\">airlifted out of the territory<\/a><\/span> on Saturday night, in critical condition and \u201cclinging to life,\u201d according to VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson.<\/p>\n<p>Following that incident, police responded to shots being fired in La Grande Princesse and Campo Rico, capping off a violent weekend here.<\/p>\n<p>The criminal activity, however, did not stop. <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/featured\/man-found-dead-in-black-rodeo-after-being-shot-multiple-times-in-campo-rico\/\" target=\"_blank\">Three days ago<\/a><\/span>, a man was gunned down in the Shanty located in the Harvey\/Campo Rico community by unknown assailants, leaving his lifeless body slumped in the Black Isuzu Rodeo he was driving.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting will be held in Nelson&#8217;s office located in the Legislative building in Frederiksted on Sept. 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This will take collaborative efforts from various sectors of this community, thus this call for action,&#8221; Sen.
