ST. CROIX — Senator Kenneth L. Gittens, chairman of the\u00a0Legislature\u2019s Committee on Rules and Judiciary, said the committee is\u00a0preparing to host another working session in the series of Election Reform\u00a0round table discussions, according to a press release Gittens’ office issued last week.<\/p>\n

The meeting will include participation from senators\u00a0or their representatives, Elections Systems Officials and members of the Joint\u00a0Boards of Elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are moving back to St. Croix with this month\u2019s meeting and we will continue\u00a0to methodically go through Title 18 of the Virgin Islands Code to identify issues and\u00a0concerns including ambiguity and contradictions that have led to the negative impact\u00a0on our election process. I look forward to another productive working session, one\u00a0that will result in comprehensive election reform beneficial to the voting populace,\u201d\u00a0Senator Gittens said.<\/p>\n

According to the second-term senator, the meeting will take place 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.\u00a0Monday, September 14th , 2015 at the Virgin Islands Port Authority Conference\u00a0Room at Henry E. Rholsen Airport here.<\/p>\n

Gittens added that the committee and the Elections System has continued to\u00a0receive input from the community on the changes being made as the process\u00a0continues. He said as with all the other working sessions, the public is invited to\u00a0view the process but will not be a part of the decision making at this time.<\/p>\n
