TORTOLA \u00a0— A month-long culinary event is being planned here that celebrates the culinary offerings and experiences of the BVI.<\/p>\n
Director of Tourism Sharon Flax Mars said their second BVI Food Fete offers a blend of new and signature events that have been created for tastemakers, and novice culinary explorers.<\/p>\n
“Through our numerous festivities we aim to introduce our guests to our culinary tourism product in a platform that blends discovery and adventure as we expose them to the variety of experiences that are offered along our turquoise shores and beaches,\u201d said Director of Tourism, Sharon Flax-Mars. \u201cThe BVI Food Fete is ideal for families, couples and friends who seek an uncommon destination.\u201d<\/p>\n
Taste of Tortola \u2013 November 7, the newly revitalised Queen Elizabeth II Park on Tortola is the prime setting for event.\u00a0To highlight the various cuisines served within the British Virgin Islands, some of the top restaurateurs, chefs and mixologists will be on hand to feature their mouthwatering dishes and cocktails.<\/p>\n
The Fish & Fungi Competition highlights the national dish of the British Virgin Islands with tastings offered from the winner\u2019s version of this classic meal.<\/p>\n
The Mixologist Competition will feature top BVI bartenders as they showcase their talents in the fast-growing cocktail scene.<\/p>\n
Flax Mars said Jost Crawl \u2013 November 8, allows participants\u00a0the opportunity to peruse the bars on the island, with each bar within walking distance of the next.<\/p>\n
The Barefoot Gourmet Soir\u00e9e \u2013 November 14 to be held at Peter Island Resort and Spa, provides guests with an opportunity to mingle among fellow food connoisseurs and tastemakers within a festive atmosphere with live entertainment.<\/p>\n
Taste of Virgin Gorda \u2013 November 21 at Nail Bay Sugar Ruins, will feature Chefs and mixologists will be on hand to feature their mouthwatering dishes and cocktails.
\n\u201cThe Chef Cook-Off is one of the most exciting elements of the night as attendees gather to witness two of the BVI\u2019s most skilled chefs compete for the best chef title.<\/p>\n
The Foodie Photo Booth is a fun new feature to entice attendees to take photos next to over-sized culinary items\u201d, Flax Mars stated.<\/p>\n
She said On the Rocks Bar Crawl \u2013 November 21
\nwill take place on Virgin Gorda where participants will be transported in party safari buses to bars around the island.<\/p>\n
