CROIX &#8212; A constable attached to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) was arrested Friday as allegations arose against him of a sexual nature committed on 8 year-old girl.<\/p>\n<p>The Police Information Office says the Police Constable has been placed on compulsory leave after allegations he indecently assaulted the minor.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood that the officer, a BVIslander who resides on Virgin Gorda was charged in relation to the incident which allegedly occurred about a month ago.<\/p>\n<p>Reports say the constable is said to be a trusted friend of the child&#8217;s family.<\/p>\n<p>The officer was officially charged with indecent assault and is to appear before Magistrate\u2019s Court at the next available appointment.<\/p>\n<p>The RVIPF says its policy does not permit the release of any details in relation to the assault or the constable\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST.
