ST. JOHN — Two women were robbed at gunpoint in separate incidents here over the weekend, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced late Monday.<\/p>\n
The first incident occurred on Saturday at about 9:09 p.m. in\u00a0Cruz Bay.<\/p>\n
According to Jackson, officers met with the victim who stated that at roughly 8:35 p.m., while walking along Frank Bay Road in the vicinity of Coconut Coast Villas, a red Jeep Liberty containing four unknown men came to a halt alongside her.<\/p>\n
As the vehicle came to a stop, one of the men, wearing a black ski mask and brandishing what appeared to be a gun, jumped out. But before he could make his move, the victim, shaken, asked the suspect if he wanted money. He responded with an immediate “yes.” She provided him with $50 as he jumped back into the Liberty and sped off with the other men, who never left the vehicle.<\/p>\n
The victim was unharmed during the incident and was unable to provide any other description of the suspects or their vehicle.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere here, on Sunday at about 8:13 p.m., officers received notification from the 911 emergency call center of a robbery that occurred in the area of Mongoose Junction.<\/p>\n
Responding officers arrived at the scene and met with the victim, who stated that she was robbed at gunpoint at roughly 8:08 p.m. while she and a friend were sitting on the wall of the look-out, adjacent to the Asolare Restaurant.<\/p>\n
She said they were\u00a0approached by two unknown black men, who wore dark clothing with their faces covered by white cloths.<\/span><\/p>\n One of the men held a handgun against her and repeatedly demanded that she give them all of the items she had. The shaken victim complied and made available all she possessed — including her bag, mobile phone and camera.<\/p>\n The men left the two women unharmed as they fled the area in a dark, grey colored Jeep that had been parked across the street seemingly waiting for the pair of suspects.<\/p>\n Anyone with information concerning these incident is asked to call 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-(TIPS) 8477 or go to www.crimestoppersusvi.org<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" ST.
