{"id":29306,"date":"2015-09-30T18:27:34","date_gmt":"2015-09-30T18:27:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/?p=29306"},"modified":"2015-09-30T18:27:53","modified_gmt":"2015-09-30T18:27:53","slug":"uvi-raffles-luxury-timeshares-for-scholarship-funds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wp.viconsortium.com\/?p=29306","title":{"rendered":"UVI Raffles Luxury Timeshares For Scholarship Funds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">The University of the Virgin Islands has launched a unique scholarship campaign to win ownership of a timeshare at luxurious resorts, all while helping deserving students that attend the university, according to a press release the institution of higher learning issued this afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">UVI is raffling a chance to win ownership of one of two timeshares at two of the most deluxe resorts on St. Thomas: Elysian Beach Resort and Bluebeard\u2019s Castle. The deadline for entering the raffle is Friday, Nov. 13. All proceeds will go toward student scholarships.<br class=\"\" \/>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">\u201cWe were fortunate to have a generous donor give the University a week\u2019s ownership at each timeshare resort as a way to raise scholarship funds for students,\u201d said Mitchell Neaves, vice president of Institutional Advancement for UVI.\u00a0 \u201cIt is a win-win for the community, a chance to own a luxury timeshare, and to support students in need at the same time. I encourage everyone to try their luck.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">Raffle entry is available only online through the UVI website. To enter the raffle, visit <\/span><span class=\"\"><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/development.uvi.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"\">http:\/\/development.uvi.edu<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"\"> o<\/span><span class=\"\">r use this <\/span><span class=\"\"><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uvi.edu\/administration\/institutional-advancement\/development\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"\">direct link.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">Each entry is only $10, and participants may purchase multiple raffle entries. Payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">\u201cFor just $10 or a little more, someone can actually own a timeshare valued at close to $3,000,\u201d Neaves said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">There will be one winner for each of the two resort timeshare ownerships.\u00a0 The winners will be notified and announced to the public the week of Nov. 16.\u00a0 The deeds for the timeshare properties will be transferred to each winner in January 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">Each timeshare owner can join Resort Condominiums International (RCI) allowing the properties to be traded for stays at hundreds of locations in the RCI network worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">The week (#40) at Bluebeard\u2019s Castle features a studio room with king bed and mini kitchen located in the Hilltop Villas. The room boasts a spectacular view of the Charlotte Amalie harbor. <\/span><span class=\"\">Timeshare guests will enjoy a private balcony, outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center, tennis courts and fine dining at two award-winning restaurants:\u00a0 Banana Tree Grille and Room with A View.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">The timeshare week (#42) at Elysian Beach Resort, located on the eastern end of St. Thomas, includes a studio with king bed and mini kitchen, and a stunning view of the beach and sparkling waters.
