Original Story:<\/strong> ST. CROIX — A man was found shot to death with multiple gunshot wounds about his body at Halfpenny Beach<\/a><\/span> on Friday night, VI Consortium learned through a police source. The incident was subsequently confirmed by VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson.<\/p>\n

In a brief telephone interview with The Consortium this morning, Jackson said the 911 emergency call center received notification of the incident just after 10:00 p.m. last night, after receiving reports of a “disturbance” in the area. Police arrived on the scene and started to conduct a search, and found the dead man’s body in the vicinity of the beach but far away from a Beach Club to the east of Halfpenny.<\/p>\n

The Consortium arrived on the scene about 7:50 a.m. today and met with police personnel who were searching for evidence, however they were not authorized to divulge any information to the media.<\/p>\n

The deceased, Jackson said, has not been identified and the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
