CROIX &#8212; District Court Chief Judge Wilma A. Lewis on November 6, 2015, sentenced\u00a0Gail Leung, 57, to 18 months in prison for manufacture of marijuana, United States Attorney Ronald W.\u00a0Sharpe announced today.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Lewis also ordered Leung to serve two years of supervised release, and pay a $100 special\u00a0assessment and $5,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>On June 11, 2015, Leung pleaded guilty to manufacture of marijuana. As part of her plea, she\u00a0agreed to pay a forfeiture money judgment in the amount of $3,000. According to court documents,\u00a0Leung knowingly and intentionally grew marijuana plants on her property in Estate Mount Pleasant, St.\u00a0Croix. On May 28, 2014, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) removed a total of 200\u00a0marijuana plants from the property.<\/p>\n<p>This case was investigated by the DEA.
