CROIX &#8212; A man lost his life after losing control of a moped\/scooter that he was riding and crashed head-on into a vehicle heading West, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>According to Jackson, on Wednesday at about 3:13 p.m., the 911 emergency call center received notification of a\u00a0vehicular accident that occurred on the East End Road in the vicinity of Ms. Bea Road.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Jackson said t<span class=\"\">wo of the vehicle\u2019s passengers were taken to the Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center by ambulance following the accident for treatment and observation, as well as the operator of the scooter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\">Mr. Jackson further stated that the condition of the vehicle\u2019s two passengers remains unknown; however, the operator of the moped, later identified as James Jenk, 65, of Alabama, succumbed to his injuries sometime after 11:00 p.m. on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">The matter is under investigation by the VIPD\u2019s Traffic Division.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST.
