CROIX &#8212; Virgin Islands Port Authority Executive Director Carlton Dowe via a press release issued today, announced that Holland American Cruise Lines has cancelled the January 10, 2016 visit of their Rotterdam ship to this island.<\/p>\n<p>The Rotterdam was scheduled to berth at the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility in Frederiksted. Mr.\u00a0Dowe said no details were provided explaining the reason for the cancellation.<\/p>\n<p>The Holland American ship is the second cruise line to cancel its call to St. Croix in three months. On October 25, 2015, Celebrity Cruises, part of the Royal Caribbean family, <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/business\/celebrity-cruises-has-canceled-call-to-st-croix\/\" target=\"_blank\">cancelled its call<\/a><\/span> after being scheduled\u00a0to berth at the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility in Frederiksted.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Dowe said then that no details were provided explaining the reason for the cancellation. And when contacted for more information, a Celebrity Cruises supervisor told The Consortium that a response would\u00a0be forthcoming, but was unable to make available any details as of press time.<\/p>\n<p>The cruise line never responded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST.
