{"id":33322,"date":"2016-01-08T12:51:53","date_gmt":"2016-01-08T12:51:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/?p=33322"},"modified":"2016-01-08T12:57:54","modified_gmt":"2016-01-08T12:57:54","slug":"vi-bar-association-seeking-candidates-for-full-time-executive-director-position","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wp.viconsortium.com\/?p=33322","title":{"rendered":"VI Bar Association Seeking Candidates For Full-Time Executive Director Position"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Virgin Islands Bar Association (VIBA) is seeking candidates for the position of executive director (ED). <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This full time position commencing in January 2016.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 60-year-old VIBA is a mandatory professional association for lawyers and judges in the U.S. Virgin Islands. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The executive director is responsible for leading and managing the VIBA under the direction of the Board of Governors in accordance with the Bylaws and strategic plan.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Managing and overseeing all bar functions including membership, events, volunteers, staff, financial management, marketing and continuing legal educational development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Qualifications<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Four-year college degree<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bar or other association or non-profit experience<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong foundation in budgeting and financial management<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Five years\u2019 experience with similar responsibilities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Successful track record with donations, sponsorships, partnerships and advertisers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Confidence with today\u2019s technologies<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Juris Doctorate preferred.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submit a resume, cover letter and the phone number of at least two references to:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Search Committee<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P.
