JOHN — Officers attached to the St. John-Leander Jurgen Command held its Quarterly Recognition Presentation on Thursday morning, providing acknowledgement to outstanding officers covering the period of October-December 2015, a press release VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson issued this afternoon has revealed.<\/p>\n
Arlene Chalwell, St. John deputy chief of police, continues to build the moral of the officers under her command by continuously sharing sincere words of encouragement and presenting each of \u00a0the officer’s chosen for Thursday’s ceremony with a plaque of appreciation, along with a hearty round of applause for their dedication, according to the release.<\/p>\n
Officer Thompson Alexander received the Officer of the Month award \u00a0for the month of October, for exemplifying great potential for leadership, as he\u2019s always reliable and reports for duty on time, the release further stated. It added that while on duty, Officer Alexander has been able to take charge and lead others by carrying out the duties of a supervisor when needed. He was also tasked with heading up the New Year\u2019s Eve initiative and recording the action plan.<\/p>\n
Officer Josiah Angol received the Officer of the Month award \u00a0for November of last year, as he continues to always lend a helping hand when needed. He reports for duty on time and has always shown initiative by being an officer who is dedicated and dependable, reads the release.<\/p>\n
And officer Mitsy Prescod received the Officer of the Month Award for December, 2015 for always being ready to assist her fellow officers and exemplifying outstanding dependability by always being ready to take on a second shift when man power fails, the release states. Her impeccable service contributes to a positive work environment. And Officer Prescod went above and beyond her duty as she transformed the front desk operations by implementing a more direct and simplified functionality.<\/p>\n
