ST. CROIX — A 61-year-old man was accosted and assailed by one of three masked men on Monday in Estate Sion Farm, after the victim told the three men that he had no money, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to Mr. Jackson, citing a preliminary police report, at about 8:31 p.m. on Monday, the 911 emergency call center received\u00a0a report of a home invasion that had taken place in the aforementioned location.<\/p>\n
Responding officers met with the elderly homeowner, who stated that while walking to his vehicle that was parked in his yard, the three men, all wearing masks, approached him with aggression, demanding money.<\/p>\n
After telling the suspects — all brandishing handguns — that he had no money, one of the suspects struck him several times with the weapon, and then stuck the gun in the victim’s mouth.<\/p>\n
The suspects then\u00a0took the victim\u2019s keys, wallet, mobile phone and his 2001 white Chevy S10 pickup truck (CDS-610) and left the area, according to Mr. Jackson.<\/p>\n
An all-points bulletin was placed on the vehicle and the victim was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital\u2019s emergency room for medical treatment.<\/p>\n
