ST. JOHN — U.S.V.I. native Teshanne Phillip,\u00a0an author, ghost writer and motivational speaker, will host professional and social development conferences in St. Thomas on March 25 and 27, according to press release issued late Monday.<\/p>\n
According to the release, Ms. Phillip, who grew up in St. John, is on a quest to change lives by restoring hope. She earned her bachelors in hospitality management from Johnson and Wales University, her master’s in business administration from Kaplan University, and is currently pursuing her doctorate in public service administration from Capella University.<\/p>\n
Ms. Phillip will be in the Virgin Islands from March 18-27, promoting the release of her third book, \u201cNot Easily Broken\u201d and is also hosting two conferences to motivate and celebrate the youth and women of the Virgin Islands. There are two book-signing events scheduled: On St. John on March 22 at 6:00 p.m. at the Frank Powell Park in Cruz Bay, and on St. Thomas on March 24 at 6:00 p.m. at Bolongo Bay. All are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n
The first conference, which is free and titled \u201cYou Matter \u2013 a You Extravaganza”, will take place at the Bertha C. Boschulte middle school auditorium at 3:00 p.m. According to the release, the purpose is to elevate and empower the youth of the Virgin Islands by instilling in them that they are worthy and their dreams are achievable, if they work hard and invest in themselves. The conference speakers include St. Thomas native and Child Protective Advocate, Erica Lee; St. John native, entrepreneur Brummell Germain; Celebrity Chef Maxcel Hardy of New York; Minister Tanya Duncombe of the Bahamas and Author Lakeisha Dixon of Atlanta.\u00a0Johnson & Wales University North Miami campus will also be in attendance at the youth conference recruiting high school seniors.<\/p>\n
Last year, Ms. Phillip hosted the first annual \u201cLet\u2019s Elevate to a Better You \u2013 It\u2019s a Women\u2019s Empowerment Affairs” conference at the Marriott\u2019s Frenchman\u2019s Reef, which turned out to be a resounding success, according to the release. Ms. Phillip expressed excitement while introducing the 2nd annual women\u2019s conference, and has also doubled the amount of conference speakers. This event will take place at the Marriott\u2019s Frenchmans\u2019s Reef on March 26 at 10:00 a.m.<\/p>\n
Speakers for the second conference include two fellow Virgin Islanders: Mentor Camela Francis and Branding Coach Laura Ann Thomas. Other speakers include Celebrity Relationship Expert Stephan Labossiere of Atlanta, Certified Life’s Lakeisha Dixon, also of Atlanta, Domestic Violence Survivor and Author Mildred Muhammad of Washington D.C., Pastor & Author Rasheda Jackson of Miami and Esteem Productions CEO Rayette McDonald of the Bahamas.<\/p>\n
