ST. CROIX — The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on Sunday that flooding in St. Croix that occurred on Saturday and Sunday night\u00a0led to pockets of areas experiencing electrical service interruptions.<\/p>\n
According to the release, W.A.P.A.’s Estate Richmond\u00a0power plant is operating normally, all feeders are in service and line department crews are in the field addressing the small areas of service interruptions.<\/p>\n
Crews have been assigned to the following areas: Estate Work and Rest, Estate St. John, La Vallee and Rust-Up-Twist, Jolly Hill, Brooks Hill, Morningstar, Golden Grove and New Works, Estate Bethlehem Village. Crews are also in Peter’s Rest replacing a defective transformer and on Queen Street in Frederiksted replacing a pole that was damaged this morning in a vehicular accident. Earlier today, service was restored in both Enfield Green and Estate Mon Bijou.<\/p>\n
W.A.P.A. crews will continue to address all service calls until full power restoration has been achieved, according to the release. W.A.P.A. told The Consortium this morning that a new update will be issued mid-morning Monday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
