ST. THOMAS — \u00a0The Division of Personnel on Friday announced testing for new police and corrections officers territory-wide, stating that the openings are based on new positions that had become available.<\/p>\n
According to the release, in order to be considered, all interested candidates must submit a completed application package at their respective district office by close of business on Friday, June 3. Candidates who have previously applied may notify the Division of Personnel of any changes in their mailing address to ensure receipt of confirmed examination.<\/p>\n
Qualifications are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n Completion of 12th grade or possession of an equivalent certificate, the ability to obtain a U.S Virgin Islands motor vehicle operator\u2019s license, and a U.S citizen at least twenty years of age that has not reached his\/her forty-sixth birthday. Candidates must also pass a civil service written examination, physical agility test, psychological exam, oral board review, as well as a background check.<\/p>\n Anyone holding a degree within any field of study from an accredited institution or has been honorably discharged from any branch of the U.S military may be exempt from taking the written examination, but will be required to meet all other established criteria for qualification.
