THOMAS &#8212; Governor Kenneth Mapp executed an extradition request on Saturday for K\u2019moi Corraspe, who is wanted for first degree murder in the territory as a result of the <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/featured\/man-shot-dead-in-st-thomas-community-center\/\" target=\"_blank\">December 10, 2015 murder of Kadeem O. John<\/a><\/span> on the island of St. Thomas, Government House announced late Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Corraspe is currently being held without bail in New York State after a plain-clothes police detail stopped him with two females after entering a building with a clearly posted \u201cNo Trespassing\u201d sign.<\/p>\n<p>After running background checks on all three individuals, the White Plains police arrested Mr. Corraspe on an outstanding warrant for first degree murder issued in the U.S. Virgin Islands.<\/p>\n<p>According to the release, Mr. Mapp, through the Attorney General\u2019s Office, has presented the extradition request to the governor of the State of New York. This joint effort is a result of real-time reporting of crime and suspect data to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system, according to Government House.<\/p>\n<p>The release says the V.I.P.D. has continued to implement the further use of technology in both its crime prevention and apprehension efforts.
