The Virgin Islands Port Authority Board of Governors approved a non-cash policy effective November 1 for the authority\u2019s marine division at its September 22 board meeting, V.I.P.A. made known via press release Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Cash will no longer be accepted at the Port Authority\u2019s seaports. Users of V.I.P.A.\u2019s marine facilities have several options to pay port use fees, including the following:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Contact VIPA\u2019s accounting office at (340) 774-1629 to establish an account with the Port Authority and be billed monthly.<\/li>\n
  2. Pay at the seaports using a debit card with a VISA logo, a credit card (VISA or MasterCard only) or pay via check. Returned checks are subject to a $30 fee charged by V.I.P.A., and any other fees charged by respective banking institutions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    V.I.P.A. confirmed that it will continue to accept cash at its seaports until November 15 to give customers time to set up an account or obtain debit or credit cards to make payments.<\/p>\n
