THOMAS &#8212; A man told police on Tuesday that he was the only occupant of a Lexus when he drove the car into the Veterans Drive Waterfront harbor yesterday morning.<\/p>\n<p>According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte, at about 9:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area, and found a 2001 Lexus S300\/L submerged in the sea.<\/p>\n<p>It remains unclear as to what caused the accident, but someone claiming to be the brother of the victim, posted in a Facebook group called I.E.K.H.S. Class of 2008, that his brother could be bipolar or schizophrenic, and has had some &#8220;major episodes.&#8221; It was not clear if the episodes occurred before or after the accident.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, the relative said residents should not make fun of the situation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Instead of making fun of the situation, I ask, if it&#8217;s not too much, to say a prayer for me and my family. The vehicle was recovered and towed by Sherwayne Wrecker Service.<\/p>\n<p>The driver was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Hospital for medical care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST.
