ST. THOMAS — The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority announces an emergency road closure and water service interruption for customers in the Savan area on Thursday, December 29, WAPA has announced.<\/p>\n

Customers on Gylling and Hill Streets, Gamle Norsidevej, Nye Norsidevej, Solberg, and parts of Upper Annas Fancy will experience water service interruption from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., while crews make repairs to a 6\u201d water main at the intersection of Lerke Gade and Savan Street. Vehicular traffic will be interrupted on Lerke Gade onto Hill Street, heading into the Solberg area while the crews are working.<\/p>\n

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes when possible, and to proceed cautiously in the area and follow traffic directions for the safety of crews, pedestrians and other drivers. The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this water service interruption, and assures customers that every effort will be made to restore water service, and vehicular traffic to normal, as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n
