ST. CROIX — A power outage at the Charles Harwood Medical Complex in Richmond forced the early dismissal of employees, Department of Health Director of Public Relations Nykole Tyson made known on Monday.<\/p>\n
Ms. Tyson said the power outage — which blew D.O.H.’s transfer switch — did not only affect the clinic, but also the neighboring areas. \u00a0As a result there was no electricity at the Charles Harwood Complex, and all staff were dismissed at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. All appointments were rescheduled as needed, and all clinical items needing refrigeration were secured using alternate accommodation, according to Ms. Tyson.<\/p>\n
She said the facility’s executive team walked the halls of the complex notifying\/updating all staff and clients. Ms. Tyson also said that a technician had assessed the damage and was repairing the the transfer switch.<\/p>\n
Normal operations at the clinic is expected to resume today. D.O.H. said it regrets any inconvenience the outage may have caused.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
