ST. THOMAS — A man was found dead by his friend in what police have described as a suicide incident, V.I.P.D. Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced this afternoon.<\/p>\n
According to Ms. Freeman, on Monday a resident of Sapphire House called the 911 emergency call center to report that he attempted several times to make contact with his friend and neighbor, but was unsuccessful.<\/p>\n
The Sapphire resident\u00a0further explained that he became concerned and traveled to his friend\u2019s residence at Unit 304 of Sapphire House. And after repeatedly making attempts to contact his friend, he then peered into the apartment and discovered that he was hanging from the apartment\u2019s door knob, according to police.<\/p>\n
Upon investigators’ arrival to the scene, they discovered an unresponsive Caucasian male, who appeared to be in his early 30s, hanging from the unit\u2019s door knob, according to Ms. Freeman.<\/p>\n
