The arrests were a result of ongoing initiatives, she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">On Wednesday at approximately 11:45 p.m., <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Nevin-James.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Nevin Davis<\/a><\/span>, 28, of Estate Hope was arrested and charged with possession of unlicensed firearm in the vicinity of Long Bay. One day later\u00a0at approximately 4:30 p.m., <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Shakieme-Freeman.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Shakieme Freeman<\/a><\/span>, 24, of New Tutu was arrested and charged with possession of unlicensed firearm in the vicinity of Thomasville, according to Ms. Freeman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Unable to make bail of $25,000 each, Mr. Freeman and Mr. Davis were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending their advise-of-rights hearings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">St. Thomas Police Chief Jason Marsh said the stepped-up initiatives were prompted by the recent wave of violence affecting St. Thomas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cIn light of the recent crime wave that has hit the territory we will continue these initiatives and do our best to continue to get these guns off the streets,&#8221; Chief Marsh said. \u201cV.I.P.D. will continue to focus our efforts on crime reduction but will continue to plead with those who have information to come forward, speak out, and assist in making our streets safe again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Police are asking anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of suspects to call the V.I.P.D. at\u00a0(340) 774-2211, or Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340)714-9807.
