Aniska Tonge of 4HER Foundation and Taiesa Lashley<\/a><\/span> of VI Pageantry and C.H.I.C Lifestyle Collection, LLC recently announced that applications from graduating female students to win the ultimate prom experience and be the Belle of the Ball<\/a><\/span>, are now being accepted.<\/p>\n

And in an expansion to the event, the organizations also announced that applications are now being accepted from potential winners hailing from the island of St. Croix; for the past two years, five intelligent and beautiful seniors — all from St. Thomas — have been pampered on their prom night with an all-expense paid magical experience, according to the release.<\/p>\n

The prize package includes: complimentary prom dress and accessories, manicure, hair professionally styled, personal photographer and a limousine ride to the prom.<\/p>\n

Former Belles of the Ball are: Nykesha Culpepper and Chanester Crawford in 2015, and Raven Phillips, Graciela Samuel and Hassanah Graham in 2016. This year two Belles — one from the St.Thomas- St. John district and one from St. Croix — will be selected.<\/p>\n

Applicants are required to have a minimum 3.0 GPA and will also be required to list volunteer\/community organizations that they are active members of, according to the release. Applicants will also need to submit two letters of recommendations: one letter from a staff member of their school and one letter from a community organization that they volunteer with. The deadline for applications for Belle of the Ball is April 9, 2017.<\/p>\n
