THOMAS &#8212; A man was jailed on Friday night after he waived his rights and admitted to police that he had raped a victim, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced late Saturday. Police did not reveal the sex of the victim, but the facility where the rape occurred houses mentally ill individuals.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Dratte, citing a police report, at about 9:21 p.m. on Friday, officers made their way to the Eldra Schulterbrandt Facility in Estate Tutu in regards to a sexual assault.<\/p>\n<p>Upon officers&#8217; arrival, contact was made with the suspect, who was transported to the force&#8217;s Criminal Investigation Bureau for questioning. While being interviewed by police, the suspect, identified by police as <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/viconsortium.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Wingrove-Clarke.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">59-year-old Wingrove<\/a><\/span> Clark, waived his rights and admitted to police that he had indeed sexually assaulted the victim.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Clark was charged with first-degree rape and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections after failing to make bail of $85,000.<\/p>\n<p>Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the\u00a0Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340)714-9800, or Crime Stoppers USVI <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.p3tips.com\/TipForm.aspx?ID=737&amp;DSID=737\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST.
