Through the\u00a0HelpUSVINow! Fund at CFVI, $1.2 million in grants is being awarded to the following recipients.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"\">$25,000 to\u00a0<\/span><i class=\"\">Family Resource Center<\/i><span class=\"\">\u00a0to support ongoing relief supply distribution and services<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">$25,000 to\u00a0<\/span><i class=\"\">Women&#8217;s Coalition of St. Croix<\/i><span class=\"\">\u00a0to support relief efforts including supply\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"\">distribution and disaster crisis counseling<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">$50,000 to\u00a0<\/span><i class=\"\">Patient Assist VI<\/i><span class=\"\">\u00a0to continue its emergency prescription program for patients in need<\/span><\/li>\n<li>$50,000 to\u00a0<i class=\"\">VI Partners for Healthy Communities<\/i>\u00a0to support primary health care and social services delivery to underserved individuals<\/li>\n<li>$150,000 to the University of the Virgin Island\u2019s School of Nursing to replace simulation lab equipment and support continued on-island training for aspiring nurses<\/li>\n<li>$200,000 to\u00a0<i class=\"\">Cancer Support VI<\/i><i class=\"\">\u00a0<\/i>to support the healthcare needs of cancer patients, including transfer to healthcare facilities in the mainland as needed<\/li>\n<li>$700,000 to support capacity, structural, and educational needs at the 4 largest private schools in the territory (Antilles School; Gifft Hill School; Good Hope Country Day School; VI Montessori School and Peter Gruber International Academy)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\">Recognizing the massive humanitarian challenge facing the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) as it recovers from the devastating impact of hurricanes Irma and Maria, the\u00a0Stephenson\u00a0Family, under the leadership of longtime St. Thomas resident, Richard J\u00a0Stephenson, announced in October a pledge of $5 million in relief funds to assist with the islands\u2019 recovery. Two million dollars was funded immediately, with the additional $3 million pledged as a matching fund to encourage other donations to the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) for hurricane recovery.\u00a0<b class=\"\">\u00a0<\/b>Tax-deductible donations can be made at<b class=\"\">\u00a0<\/b><a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.edcreliefandrecovery.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b class=\"\">www.EDCReliefandRecovery.org<\/b><\/a><b class=\"\"><u class=\"\"><span class=\"\">.<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The\u00a0Stephenson\u00a0family\u2019s relationship with the U.S. Virgin Islands dates to 2003 when they launched International Capital &amp; Management Company, an EDC company that today employs over 130 people.
