THOMAS &#8212; A man was arrested for allegedly beating a female acquaintance with his closed fist about the body and on her head on Monday, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has announced.<\/p>\n<p>Police received notification of the incident, which occurred in Anna&#8217;s Retreat, at about 11:03 a.m. on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival to the scene, the V.I.P.D.&#8217;s domestic violence unit made contact with the victim, who told police that the suspect, Mario Aubain, above, punched her with his closed fist about her body and her head.<\/p>\n<p>Police say the victim sustained injuries to her right cheek, right hand, and hair was ripped from her scalp.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Aubain, 45, was arrested on Thursday and charged with simple assault after being positively identified by the victim as the person who assaulted her.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was booked, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing, according to police.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST.
