ST. CROIX — A man was found dead just after midnight on Saturday in the parking lot of the Ruby M. Rouse housing community, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Monday.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Dratte, the 911 emergency call center received notification of discharging of shots in the Water Gut area. Upon officers’ arrival to the location, a man was found lying in the parking lot of the above-mentioned housing community, appearing lifeless with multiple gunshot wounds about his body.<\/p>\n

Emergency medical technicians on the scene attempted to resuscitate the victim multiple times, but those efforts were unsuccessful, according to police.<\/p>\n

The victim was identified by his mother as 24-year-old Alex Gonzalez. The incident is under investigation by police, according to Mr. Dratte.<\/p>\n
