Governor Kenneth Mapp has nominated Dr. Laura Palminteri, DVM, Henry E. Schjang, Ian Samuel and Ronald A. Phillips to the Virgin Islands Horse Racing Commission, Government House made known via press release Friday.<\/p>\n

Once confirmed by the Legislature, Schjang and Phillips will join the board in the St. Croix district, while Palminteri and Samuel will represent the St. Thomas\/St. John district, Government House said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is my pleasure to ask the advice and consent of the Legislature on this nomination,\u201d Mr. Mapp wrote in\u00a0nomination letters<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to Senate President Myron Jackson. \u201cYour prompt and favorable confirmation will enhance the Commission\u2019s ability to meet its busy agenda and serve the people of U.S. Virgin Islands.\u201d<\/p>\n

The term of appointment ranges from two to three years once confirmed with Phillips and Samuel appointed for two years and Schjang and Palminteri appointed for three.
