ST. THOMAS — A St. Thomas police officer was arrested on Friday after being accused of sexual assault by a female acquaintance who stated that the officer forced himself on her, The Consortium has learned.<\/p>\n
V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte, who issued the release Friday afternoon, said that the suspect is indeed a police officer after The Consortium sought confirmation.<\/p>\n
Mr. Dratte said that on\u00a0Thursday, June 28, 2018 the V.I.P.D.’s Domestic Violence Unit was advised that a female reported being sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance on June 21, 2018 at her residence. The victim stated that after refusing to be intimate with him, he forced himself on her, pushing and pinning her to the bed while removing her clothing and sexually assaulted her.<\/p>\n
The suspect, identified as police officer\u00a0Mikhail Woodley, 30, seen above, was arrested today for first-degree rape, a domestic violence charge that bars the suspect from being afforded the bail option. Mr. Woodley was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.<\/p>\n
Mr. Dratte said Mr. Woodley was also placed on leave without pay.<\/p>\n
