Offering condolences to the family and friends of the late U.S. Senator and two-time presidential contender John McCain, Governor Kenneth Mapp has ordered all flags to be flown at half-staff at Government House and upon all public buildings and grounds throughout the territory until sunset on the day of Mr. McCain\u2019s interment, Government House made known Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Mr. McCain, an American war hero and lifelong public servant who served in the U.S. Navy as well as the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate, died Saturday at the age of 81 after a year-long battle with brain cancer.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe nation has lost a towering political icon, one of the last of his kind.
