The Department of Education, State Office of Special Nutrition Programs announced on Tuesday the availability of the 2018-2019 Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP).\u00a0 According to the release, the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program provides all children in participating schools with a variety of free fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the school day.\u00a0\u00a0It is an effective and creative way of introducing fresh fruits and vegetables as healthy snack options.<\/p>\n
All\u00a0public elementary schools\u00a0in the St. Thomas\/St. John and St. Croix Districts are encouraged to apply.\u00a0\u00a0Applications can be picked up or emailed beginning\u00a0Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Special Nutrition Programs Office, in St. Thomas, located at the bottom of Polyberg Hill in the former J. Antonio Jarvis Annex School, and on St. Croix at the Department of Education -Main Complex located at 2133 Hospital Street, C\u2019sted, VI, respectively.\u00a0\u00a0Deadline for applying is Thursday, December 20, 2018 by 5:00 pm.<\/p>\n
